Do Aesthetic Injections Hurt?
You will be provided with written aftercare instructions of your treatment which is advisable to adhere too. After the treatment you should consider the following:
- Do not rub or massage treatment areas – (this can spread the product increasing the risk of complications of skin smoothing injections)
- Avoid facials for 2 weeks
- Avoid extreme sun exposure, UV light, freezing temperatures and saunas for 2 weeks
- Avoid lying flat or bending down excessively for 6 hours
- Avoid strenuous physical exercise for 48 hours
- Avoid alcohol for 48 hours

- Avoid make up for 24 hours
How do dermal fillers work? How are they different from skin smoothing (anti-wrinkle) injections?
Dermal fillers help restore the look of fullness while skin smoothing injections prevents the flexing of muscles that eventually cause wrinkling. The lines in the lower part of the face are from a change in facial structure over time. So skin smoothing injections and dermal fillers can work together to rejuvenate the face. Your practitioner will advise you of the best treatment for your needs.

How long do aesthetic injections results last?
Most dermal fillers last anywhere from 9 - 24 months, depending upon the filler, individual and where we’re targeting the injections. Skin smoothing injections last for about 4 – 6 months.

Do aesthetic injections cause side effects?
Any cosmetic injection treatment, including dermal fillers and skin smoothing injections has potential side effects. It’s best to talk with your practitioner as side effects may vary depending on which injection(s) you receive.

How do I ensure a safe qualified registered healthcare professional?
The aesthetic industry is still unregulated so unqualified/non registered 'practitioners' carry out treatments please be aware if they are not with a registered body, accountability maybe more difficult. Ask the practitioner for details of their registration/registering body i.e. NMC, GMC, HCPC, ask to see their qualifications, insurance and are they complications trained.
